Sedation Dentistry
While our entire team is known for going to great lengths to make our patients feel comfortable, some people are nervous about receiving dental treatment. That’s why we offer safe and effective sedation dentistry.
Who should use sedation?
Sedation dentistry is ideal for worried or fearful patients since it completely removes all feelings of anxiety and apprehension. Sedation is also great for extremely busy patients since Dr. Griffin can correct years of embarrassing problems in as little as one or two appointments.
With sedation dentistry, you can wake up to a more comfortable and beautiful smile. We have successfully treat patients who have said:
- I'm afraid of needles and shots.
- I've had bad experiences before.
- It's been so long, I'm afraid it's too late for me.
- I have a bad gag reflex that prevents me from having dental work done.
- I'm so busy with job traveling that I don't have time to come in for three or four appointments.
- I just can't seem to get numb.
- I don't like the noise of the drill and the smell of a dental office.
- I'm so embarrassed to open my mouth because of years of neglect.
Will sedation dentistry put me to sleep during my appointment?
With sedation, you won’t be unconscious – just deeply relaxed and drowsy. You will be able to respond to the doctor and his team members. After your treatment, you will have little to no memory of the appointment.
How does sedation work?
Dr. Griffin will give you a small pill to take an hour before your appointment. A friend or family member will drive you to the office since you will feel tired when you arrive. During the appointment, a monitoring device will be placed on your finger and arm to monitor your vital signs. Dr. Griffin and our dental team will make sure you are comfortable throughout the procedure. After your appointment is over, your friend or family member will drive you home to relax and recover. Most patients are able to return to work the next day.
At our practice, your total comfort, peace of mind, and satisfaction are our top priorities. When you fear the dentist, you should know that you’re not alone. With over 35 years of experience, we can help you put aside all of your dental anxieties.
