Whitening
Whitening enables us to safely lighten the color of a patient’s teeth. Dr. Griffin recommends two types of whitening: in-office whitening and bleaching trays.
During an in-office whitening session, a chemical solution is placed on the surface of your natural teeth to remove stains or other discolorations. Our team can whiten your smile in one appointment. Once the session is complete, you’ll notice your smile is brighter immediately.
With bleaching trays, you use a clear mouthpiece custom-fit to your mouth and a special bleaching solution. Many people prefer to use bleaching trays since you can bleach at home and they are convenient and easy to use. To achieve the best results, follow Dr. Griffin’s recommendations closely. In most cases, he will recommend that you wear the trays for an hour a day for one to two weeks. You will notice the bleaching effects immediately.
No matter what method you choose, bleaching is completely safe. The effects of the bleaching are semi-permanent (only some of the color change is permanent) so you will need to schedule follow-up whitening appointments for your smile at least once a year.
